Beginner’s Guide to Copying and Pasting – iOS, Android and Windows

Copying and pasting text or files on Windows is simple. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Highlight the Text or Select the File

  • Text: Click at the start of the text, hold down the left mouse button, and drag the cursor to highlight the desired text.
  • Files: Click once on the file to select it. To select multiple files, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking each file.

Step 2: Copy the Text or File

There are two ways to copy:

  1. Using Right-Click Menu:
    • Right-click the highlighted text or selected file.
    • Click Copy from the menu.
  2. Using Keyboard Shortcut:
    • Press Ctrl + C on your keyboard.

Step 3: Paste the Text or File

Once copied, you can paste it elsewhere:

  1. Using Right-Click Menu:
    • Right-click in the location where you want to paste.
    • Click Paste from the menu.
  2. Using Keyboard Shortcut:
    • Press Ctrl + V to paste.

Step 2: Copy the Text

  • Tap Copy from the pop-up menu.

Step 3: Paste the Text

  • Tap and hold in the area where you want to paste.
  • Tap Paste from the pop-up menu.

For files or images, use the Share option and select Copy when available.
