Introduction
Copying and Pasting on Windows
Copying and pasting text or files on Windows is simple. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Highlight the Text or Select the File
- Text: Click at the start of the text, hold down the left mouse button, and drag the cursor to highlight the desired text.
- Files: Click once on the file to select it. To select multiple files, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking each file.
Step 2: Copy the Text or File
There are two ways to copy:
- Using Right-Click Menu:
- Right-click the highlighted text or selected file.
- Click Copy from the menu.
- Using Keyboard Shortcut:
- Press Ctrl + C on your keyboard.
Step 3: Paste the Text or File
Once copied, you can paste it elsewhere:
- Using Right-Click Menu:
- Right-click in the location where you want to paste.
- Click Paste from the menu.
- Using Keyboard Shortcut:
- Press Ctrl + V to paste.
Copying and Pasting on iOS (iPhone & iPad)
Step 1: Highlight the Text
- Tap and hold on the text until a selection tool appears.
- Drag the selection handles to highlight the desired text.
Step 2: Copy the Text
- Tap Copy from the pop-up menu.
Step 3: Paste the Text
- Tap and hold in the area where you want to paste.
- Tap Paste from the pop-up menu.
For files or images, use the Share option and select Copy when available.
Copying and Pasting on Android
Step 1: Highlight the Text
- Tap and hold on the text until a selection tool appears.
- Adjust the selection handles to highlight the text.
Step 2: Copy the Text
- Tap Copy from the pop-up menu.
Step 3: Paste the Text
- Tap and hold in the location where you want to paste.
- Tap Paste from the pop-up menu.
For images and files, use the Share button and select Copy to clipboard when available.
